Dasya
Saint Dasya the Soldier, also known as Daysa the Egyptian, was a Christian martyr during the third century. He hailed from Tanda, Egypt (modern Tida in Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate), and served as a soldier in the Roman army. Despite facing severe persecution under Arianus, the governor of Ansena, Dasya steadfastly refused to renounce his faith in Christ. As a result, he endured brutal torture before ultimately being beheaded.
Recognized as a saint in both the Coptic Church and the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, Saint Dasya's feast day in the Coptic Orthodox Church falls on 2 Thout.
